Ouch! More than a little...

Okay so over the past three days I've had a dull ache in my lower right side, it's been getting progressively worse, and yesterday I'd decided to go to work today and mention it to them, seeing if I could get some time off to go and see my doctor...

Unfortunatley, things haven't worked out that way, and less than 40 minutes after getting to sleep, I wake up again in agony with a sharp pain shooting through my abdomen. I try to get up - pain. I try to lay down - pain. And we're not talking a dull ache - it felt like I'd been stabbed.

I can't walk properly, can't sit down or stand up, or rotate my other body - I can't even cough of breathe properly, without this pain appearing again. So I've phoned work up straight away, told 'em that I've got to get down to the docs ASAP - they were cool with it, so we need to see what's going on...

Well, I'm relieved to say I don't have appendicitis. What I do have is a torn stomach muscle. While I don't need to go to hospital and the problem will resolve itself, what this also means is that there is no cure or no quick fix, for what is currently an excruciatingly painful injury.

Still, I've got a few days off work out of it - I'm not workshy at all, but everyone likes time off.
Even if they have to share it with an injury like this.
